Essential Question:

  • How are the building blocks of matter arranged on the periodic table?

Objectives:

  • To have a general understanding of the main categories on the Periodic Table.
    To have a strong understanding of the information behind an element square.

Agenda:

  • Warm-up: ATOMIC WHAT?
    • If you had to tell somebody the most important fact about atomic structure (what we have been studying the past few weeks) what would it be?
  • Complete Bohr Model

    • Make label card for Bohr model
      • Follow template on board: Name, Class, Atomic Mass, Atomic Number, Protons, Neutrons, Electrons, etc.
    • Attach hook (we’ll try to get a few hung up)
    • Complete and turn-in Self-Evaluation
    • Stand back and bask in the glow of a job well done, again
  • Complete metal, non-metal, and metalloid notes: LINK
  • Return quizzes
  • General review

Homework:

  • Review mini-quiz on material covered in previous mini-quizzes Wednesday 10-15-08
    Missing work and correcting quiz grades below 80%
