November’s Lights On Celebration Was a Big Success!

The celebration that SAFE and SMART held on November, 27, 2007 in conjunction with Portland West’s After School Center and Parkside’s Night Light Afterschool Program was a great success! Over 60 community members attended. 33 SAFE and SMART students and 16 adult family members of SAFE and SMART students were there. Everyone had a fun time drumming (both kids and adults) and dancing. The afterschool programs of Portland present:

MICHAEL WINGFIELD for an evening of

AFRO-CARIBBEAN DRUMMING and A SHOWCASE OF AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAMS

at the Reiche Community Center, 166 Brackett Street, Portland, ME 04102

Tuesday, November 27, 5-6:30 pm.

EVERYONE IN THE COMMUNITY IS WELCOME TO COME ENJOY THIS ENTERTAINMENT AND SUPPORT LOCAL AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAMS!!!

Light refreshments will be provided.

Hosted by: Project SAFE and SMART at Reiche and Lincoln, The Afterschool Program at Portland West, and The Night Light Afterschool Program at Parkside.

Funding is provided by the 21st Century Community Learning Centers.
