Get Organized with NoteShare

January 22nd, 2008 · 1 Comment

One of the applications you will find on your MLTI computer is NoteShare - an application that allows to collaborate, share, and keep organized for your projects.

During the 2 hour training we’ll go over the features and functions of NoteShare, and will get you started with your own notebooks, files, etc.

An MLTI NoteShare Participant NoteBook will be shared with a wealth of resources, samples and so on, in it.

Some helpful links from Aquaminds:

Using Zoho office suite

January 15th, 2008 · 1 Comment

This may sound like a commercial - but it’s free! Just whenever you have time, go and check out the Zoho appications; they are just so cool!

Can’t say they are very basic - quite the opposite, they are very sophisticated, but don’t let that stop you. It’s definitely worth a shot regardless of how much you know about all that stuff.

Brainstorm together

January 9th, 2008 · No Comments

Ok, so there are these fancy - and don’t get me wrong, very powerful - tools for concept (or mind-) mapping. (like Inspiration, which is my personal favorite!).

Someone said, there is no such thing as algebra in real life. Likewise, you don’t need to have Inspiration on every computer to brainstorm. In fact, the nature of the process is such that it invites collaboration, and not authorship, or privacy (although, you might want to use it as such occasionally with ease, purpose, and no regret).

So here is my point - we have been trying out and sharing news about BUBBL.US (at http://bubbl.us), and I encourage you to try it too!

Here is a little example of what it can do (click on the image to see it in full size):Blogging can be

Creating Podcasts Using GarageBand and Keynote

January 2nd, 2008 · No Comments

Podcasts from iTunesIf you are trying to create content in a format other than visual text, you may want to add podcasts to your bag of tricks. Please find attached a little handout with directions on how to get started using GarageBand. At all times, do refer to the Learning Center on your MLTI computers or go to the Apple.com site to find tutorials (great tutorials, really!). Of course, you have your students and your colleagues to pick their brain and use their expertise and ideas. It’s all about connecting and community these days.

This handout may be helpful to get you started.

Making Podcasts with Garageband Handout

You may also create a simple, but more visual podcast, using Keynote. The latest version of Keynote also features a voice-over slideshow which may be used similarly to the video podcast - vcast - all done in one application. A sample is provided below.
