OCTOBER
Fall is definitely in the air, and we’re all in the second month of school. The students have learned the routines and now know our expectations. Mr. Fuller, Ms. Menyhart, and I are pleased with how quickly all the students have adjusted to our fourth grade class. We’re off to a great learning year.
Math and Language Arts groups are in full swing. The new math program Investigations is being implemented and practiced. Thank you, parents, for your support at home with your child’s homework assignments.
Mr. Fuller’s Social Studies unit is in the middle of explaining how a bill becomes a law with students playing the role of a representative or a senator. Everyone presented their opinion in front of the class about an imaginery bill proposing school year round and a 4-day school week. Ask your child what they thought about the bill and how they voted.
We will be visiting Augusta on Tuesday, October 28, 2008, to tour the State House and Museum. It should be a very informative field trip for all of us.
I’m in hopes that some of you will be comfortable adding comments to my blog. I’m curious to know how this blog can be helpful to you and your child.
Enjoy the fall days!
