Today in class we corrected mugshot #2.  We also revisited the villain worksheet.  I encouraged you to not only use the boxes on the worksheet but to go onto a notebook paper and use lots more.  The three main categories for these are, state what it is that needs to be the same in the story, question it as the villain, make up lots of questions about the fact from the story, then answer it as the villain making yourself, the villain, look good.  Answer it in more than one way.  Remember you are the villain, so make yourself look good…..

For homework tonight you are to: 1. continue reading for your reading log which is due on 9/23, Tues.

2. Remember to fill out the book order for the book, Tears of a Tiger by Sharon Draper and bring in a check or money order made out to Scholastic Books.  You need this book in class.

3. If you have not turned in your walking permission slips, please be sure to do it asap!

4.  All of you need a dated assignment notebook everyday in class.

5.  Be sure your villain worksheet is completed.

TODAY IS OPEN HOUSE FROM 6:30-8:00  Parents please make EVERY effort to attend as we will be discussing the NYC trip.

In class today we worked on a graphic organizer that helped you identify the villain in your story.  This is due tomorrow all completed.

Reading log #2 is due 9/23 Tues.  Be sure you are reading 5 out of 7 nights.

Books orders are due Friday.  All of you need to have your own copy of the book, Tears of a Tiger, it is in this book order for only $4.00.  At the book store it is $6.99.  I encourage you to bring in a check or money order made out to Scholastic Books for me to order you this book.

Mugshot #2 is due tomorrow in class.  Be sure you have rewritten it on a piece of notebook paper and highlighted corrections.

Walking permission slips, if you have not turned them in are due ASAP!

Be sure to bring to class daily a free reading book and your Write Source 2000 book.

Hi there everyone,

I know I am writing this very late and I am sorry.  I am just getting home and around to writing your homework.

Today in class we finished organizing your notebooks.  If any of you still need help, please come in to school around 7:30 a.m. and ask to go see Mrs. Scally or Mrs. Fournier in the room behind the library.  They will help you get organized.  If this time does not work for you, you can stay after from 2:25-3:00 and get help from one of these ladies in same place.

I passed out mugshot #2 which is due on Thurs.

I also passed out reading log#2 which focuses on a visualization from your reading of the week.  This is due next Tues., 9/23.

I also passed out a letter of introduction from Ms. Casteell that you were to give to your parents.

OPEN HOUSE IS TOMORROW NIGHT FROM 6:30-8:00.  I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE ALL PARENTS TO BE PRESENT AS WE WILL BEGIN TO DISCUSS OUR EXPEDITION TRIP TO NYC!!!

You must bring a children’s book with a villain in it tomorrow to class.

I have asked you all to order the book Tears of a Tiger out of the Scholastic Book order due this Friday.  The cost is $4.00 and I cannot accept cash.  Please send in a check or money order made out to Scholastic Books.

I do hope I remembered everything from the board.  I do hope you copied down your assignments.

Yes, I am really here now!!!  I am up and working…

This week in class we have been finishing presenting summer book reports.

We organized our notebooks for this year.

You received a reading log on Monday 9/8 and were to be reading 30 mins. a night for at least 5 nights.  These are due back in class completely filled out by 9/15.

We will begin working again on our children’s books next week.  You MUST bring in your children’s book to have it approved by myself.  It must be a children’s book with a villain in the story.  You also must have a blank white book that you may purchase from Arts and Craftsman on Deering Ave.

I handed out book orders today.  They are due back with CHECK only made out to Scholastic Books.  You need only one check for all the orders.
