Today in class we reviewed the 5 key words.  We then did a worksheet that looked at words being a subject, verb, or both.  We talked about this worksheet in class.  Then you were given another worksheet that about singular and plural nouns and verbs.  You also had to write sentences on the worksheet.  This is due tomorrow.

You racetrack and literature log sheets are due tomorrow with all the books you have read since last August.

Your final draft of your children’s story is due tomorrow.

Today in class we talked LOTS about analyzing perspectives.  We discussed what is our next step is with the children’s story.  Sit tight with it, and I will let you know where we will be going from here.    Right now, continue to work on the title page, dedication page, and author’s page.

Bring in baggie to keep white blank  book clean.

Continue to study your prepositions.  Page 455 in the Write Source 2000 book.

Food drive ends tomorrow….. Be generous….

We need your permission slips and $ for the Casco Bay cruise asap!

Today in class you passed in draft 3 of your story. WAY TOO many of you came unprepared today….

Tonight you are to create a 28 page layout for your story with NO MORE than 4 pages blank. Please check your rubric and your planning sheet that I handed out today. You must have this layout done by tomorrow. You only have about 1 week to complete this project. Much of it needs to be done at home and some in class every day.

You passed in reading log #29 today and I did not hand out another one. We are done with reading logs till next year. This does not mean you DO NOT read, it just means you do not have to record it till summer vacation.

Continue to study prepositions on page 455 of the Write Source book.

Bring in a plastic baggie for your children’s book to be kept in.

Bring in food for the food drive …. we have the most in the school….

Permission slips and $10.00 for field trip is due asap….

Today in class we edited each other’s stories hopefully, for the last time.  You are to go home tonight and retype or rewrite your story and come in with draft #3 tomorrow.  You also, are to come in with the blank white book that you were told to buy since last summer.   Tomorrow we will begin in these whitebooks.   You also, for tomorrow, need to bring in you original children’s book that you read to create your book.

Reading log #29 is due tomorrow.

Continue to study pg. 455 prepositions.

Bring in food for the food drive all this week.

You need to bring in your permission slip and $10.00 for our Casco Bay cruise.

Today in class we looked at both our fall and spring writing prompts. I had you compare both scores. You had to write a reflection comparing your scores and writing why you did better, less, or the same.

Be sure you check your grades on line!!!

You are come to class tomorrow with a printed version of your children’s story. We will be editing them. Also, make sure you have your white blank books. We will begin to use them at the end of this week or next.

I handed out reading log #29. This is due next Tues. 6/3.

Today in class you typed your children’s story on the laptops.  If you did not finish, you are to come early on Tues. to the Library to work on it.  You also can stay in at lunch or after school on Tues.  But, it MUST be completed by Tues. at the end of the day.  We will be editing it during the week.

You passed in reading log #28.  I did not give you a new one, but read for pleasure over the long weekend.

Still, some of you are in great need of a 8/12 by 11 inch white blank book.

Today in class you were to type your children’s story. This will help all to edit their stories. You were also to type the story on your home computers to help with revision. If you have not reached the point of typing your story, it is YOUR responsibility to get caught up. You may stay in for lunches, after school or before school. Please arrange the time with me.

Tomorrow you have a reading log due. The number escapes me, as I am doing this from home.

Be prepared for a quiz on the 5 important grammar words and the 23 verbs of existence. Tomorrow is the last day of the week, so therefore, you know the quiz will be happening….

Remember, tomorrow is step up day…. you get to step right back into MY room… you are soooo lucky! Actually, I am very lucky to have you for another year. You will also see your specialist that you will be having as 7th graders…. Wow, does that sound cool!!!

Today in class we finished taking notes on the 5 important sentence sense words.  You MUST study the 23 verbs of existence.  You also must know the 5 words and their definitions to be ready for a quiz this week.

You are to come to class tomorrow with your favorite children’s book.  Then you are to brainstorm retelling the story from a different perspective.  This may be from a different character or object in the story.  You also NEED a blank white book from Arts and Craftsman on Deering Ave.

Today in class we did lots…. You wrote your assignments in your assignment notebook.

Then we reviewed the 5 key grammar words.   Be prepared for a quiz over these terms and verbs of existence.

You completed a worksheet where you identified 18 verbs.

Then you took your brainstorming of your children’s book and began your first rough draft.  By tomorrow you must have your first draft of your children’s story completed.  It is to be written out in page format.  You must have at least 10 pages for your story.

You all still need a blank white book that is 8 1/2 by 11 inches.  You can purchase this at Arts and Craftsman behind Dunkin Doughnuts on Deering Ave.

Reading log #28 is due Friday so be sure you are reading nightly.

Today in class we read children’s book with regards to analyzing perspectives.  I wanted you to see a children’s story from the eyes of another character.  This weekend I want you read a favorite children’s book.  Then brainstorm in any way you like, the same story but through the eyes of another character or object.

I handed out reading log #28 which is due Friday, 5/23.

You are to get a white blank book by next week.  I have said this since September.

The clothing sale of LMS clothing has officially ended, but we will take orders till Monday at 2:00 p.m.

Book orders for Scholastic Books are due Monday.  Please remember to only make out one check for all orders.
