How to Cleanup your GroupWise MailBox
Groupwise September 6th, 2007Please delete all old Mailbox and Sent Items that you no longer need. CAUTION: Do NOT delete the FOLDER the files are in – only delete the email items in the folder
START > In GroupWise, locate and Select the appropriate Folder in the left panel, to view the email items in the right panel CAUTION: If you have thousands of email, only delete about 500 at a time or it may “hang” your computer
OPTIONS:
1. Deleting ALL email items (most people will choose this option and delete all items) from the list in the right panel, Select an email item from the GroupWise menu bar, Click on EDIT, Click SELECT ALL Click on EDIT again and select DELETE & EMPTY Click YES to the warning of permanent removal (If Sent Items, Select “My Mailbox” from popup window, Click … OK)
2. Deleting a single email item From the list in the right panel, Select the email item from the GroupWise menu bar, Click on EDIT and select DELETE & EMPTYClick YES to the warning of permanent removal (If Sent Items, Select “My Mailbox” from popup window, Click … OK)
3. Deleting a selected number of email items from the list in the right panel, Select the first sent email item to be deleted hold the CONTROL key down, and Select each item in the list you wish to delete (all email items selected will become highlighted) From the GroupWise menu bar, Click on EDIT and select DELETE & EMPTYClick YES to the warning of permanent removal (If Sent Items, Select “My Mailbox” from popup window, Click … OK)
4. Deleting a block of email items From the list in the right panel, Select the first sent email item to be deleted hold the SHIFT key down and Select the last item in the list you wish to delete (all email items selected will now become a highlighted block) from the GroupWise menu bar, Click on EDIT and select DELETE & EMPTYClick YES to the warning of permanent removal (If Sent Items, Select “My Mailbox” from popup window, Click … OK)
Please remember to also Empty your Trash
5. To Empty the GroupWise Trash from the list in the left panel, select the Trash folder Select “Empty Trash” from the “Edit” menu Click YES to the warning of Empty All Trash

Is this just for GW client or does it work for web-based GW also? Thanks

The instructions that I provided are for the Groupwise Client, not the web client. I would say that there are some things that could be done on the webside, but I would recommend doing any mass updates with an actual client.
