Here we go again!
Last year, the Portland School Department proudly presented the first ever “Bridge Music Festival” at Lyman Moore Middle School in Portland, Maine. By all accounts, it was hugely successful with hundreds of performers, professionals and students alike, and over 1000 people in attendance. Additionally, the event garnered the support of many of the local television news networks with two lengthy human-interest spots as well as print media stories airing the week of the event. Many thanks to all of the parents, teachers and administrators who supported this educational endeavor!
Well, we are at it again! On June 15th, 2009, King Middle School and the Portland School Department will present the second annual “Bridge Music Festival.” This year’s event will take place in Deering Oaks Park right in downtown Portland (rain location Portland Expo, Park Avenue) and we are expecting even more performers and greater attendance. We are hoping to have two large festival stages with alternating acts starting at noontime and running until around 8pm.
The festival aims to bring together Portland’s music education programs with popular music acts and professional musicians in the Portland area. The event will feature several professional Portland area acts as well as student musicians.
Please join us for this celebration of local music for all ages. Please see the about page if you have any questions or comments.
Thank You!
