Grades for those will be entered in the gradebook by the end of the week. Tomorrow we will start on unit on persuasive essay writing, focus on getting ideas down on paper.

Yesterday we began dividing decimals. Today we continue work on Sunshine Math. Sunshine Math is a worksheet of any and all math skills built into word problems. They are usually fun word problems that get the students thinking and get them to try and work them out. Each problem takes a good amount of time to work through and much scrap paper is necessary. We will be doing working on these every Friday.

The students appear to love this book. Each day they beg me to read more. Some students are even being sneaky and reading ahead.

Next week we will continue reading The Outsiders and begin writing persuasive essays. We did this assignment last year and it proved to be very succesful. We are going to work on it again this year, adding a new twist.
