The FINAL EXAM
(imagine scary music playing here)
This exam is a take-home, open-note exam, available starting today and due by the end of school on Friday, June 6th (whether you have health class that day or not). You may pass it in written or electronically. You may pass it in early. You may use any handouts, notes, or other resources you have received during health class, including websites (please stick to sites that we have used in class, this was you know you are using reliable information), but all of the answers to the questions must be completely in your own words- absolutely no cutting and pasting or copying will be tolerated, anything turned in that is thought not to be in your own words will be considered plagiarism, which is a level 3 disciplinary offense.
You are NOT allowed to work with other people on the exam. That is considered cheating.
After you download the exam file, please read all of the instructions at the top of the exam carefully. I have provided the exam in a few different formats for you, you only need to download one (each format contains the same questions).
You may have some class time to work on this, but this is primarily an outside-of-class assignment.
As always, see me if you have any questions.
Good luck (you won’t need it… you’re all pretty smart).

The Last Health Project :””(
This project is due June 2nd or 3rd (whichever day you have Health class). You will NOT have much class time to work on it during each class between now and the time that it is due.
I’ve developed a checklist for you to make sure you’re on track for this Last Health Project. As long as you have followed directions, you should be all set.
Step One: Choose a topic from the list (lasthealthprojecttopiclist.pdf) and answer two questions- 1) what do you want to know about this topic, and 2) what do you already know about this topic? Make sure your name is on the paper, and your topic is labeled at the top, turn it in on my flash drive before the end of class today.
Step Two: Find a recent news article (within the last 6 months) about the topic that you’ve chosen. Do a current event about it. If you need the current event format sheet, it is also on the blog. Do not hand this in until I ask you for it- you will need to include this with your final project.
Step Three: Rough draft. You need to find the ten most important pieces of information about your topic, and write them down in your own words. When you find an important fact you need to cite it with the author’s name, the title, the date of publication, and source. You must get your information from at least three different places.

Step Four- Slide Show. Take your “rough draft” and use the information to create your slide show. Here is a handout that explains more about the slideshow- what goes on each slide, etc. Please download this handout and follow the directions.

*****These steps go in order, make sure you are going in order too. Be careful about falling behind- if you start falling behind, you will not have a chance for extra class time to make it up, you will need to catch up at home and finish some things as HOMEWORK. Staying on task and up-to-date is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.*****
