The newest Anzora…

Filed under: Interactive Student — Mrs. Anzora @ 2:31 pm

Okay, so apparently the baby didn’t like being on bedrest, either… she insisted on arriving early- 11:45am on Saturday, December 15th. She weighs 5 pounds exactly, is 18.5 inches long, and has head full of dark black hair. Here’s a picture of little miss Kathryn Elizabeth…

Katy

While I’m already home from the hospital, Katy is still there because she was born 5 weeks early. She’s doing well in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, where she is learning how to breathe on her own (she was on a CPAP machine to help her breathe at first), and how to eat and breathe at the same time. She’s also being treated for jaundice- but all of these things are things that a lot of premature babies have problems with, and she’s quite a feisty little girl, so we hope she’ll keep improving so she can come home before New Years’.

Thanks for all your notes and kind thoughts… I’ve heard nothing but good things about you all since I’ve been gone, keep it up! Enjoy the holidays!

We’re home! Katy was released from the hospital the day after Christmas, so everyone’s home now and doing fine. Hopefully we’ll be able to come to school sometime soon and see everyone! Here’s a more “awake” picture of the peanut…

Where is Mrs. Anzora?

Filed under: Interactive Student — Mrs. Anzora @ 9:49 pm

Hi everyone… I wanted to let you know what was going on, since I disappeared so suddenly on Monday morning. Most of you know that the baby isn’t due until January 20th, but just like people, babies have minds of their own- and my little one thought that she wanted to make an appearance early! So I’ve been in the hospital all week, working with the doctors and nurses to keep her from coming too early (babies born too early can have problems, it’s always best to keep them “in” as long as possible). This morning the doctors and midwives decided that I was probably okay to go home, as long as I don’t do ANYTHING. I have to sit and lay down as much as possible (which may sound great, but there are only so many reruns of Law & Order I can watch and only so many books I can read until I feel like I’m going crazy, itching to get up and go out in the world). So I won’t be back at school until after the baby is born- hopefully at least a few weeks from now. Then I’ll stay home with the baby for a few weeks before I come back to school- most likely sometime in February or March.

I know I don’t even *need* to remind all of you to continue to do your best, treat the substitute(s) who are in for me with respect, and help out whenever possible… I expect to hear nothing but good things when I return! And when this little girl *does* make her appearance, I’ll let you all know.

Enjoy the holidays!
