Lisa talked to Lisa DiFranza, who will be here on Monday, 12/18, to talk about the themed project.

We spent the rest of the meeting developing our "elevator speech". We started putting it into outline form instead of wordsmithing, since we’re going to end up discussing these points in our own words anyway. Current talking points:

• Real world model of education in the arts
• Exploring the creative process
  • interdisciplinary curriculum
  • collaborative work skills
  • guest artists / entrepreneurs
• The needs of a creative economy
  • arts as a vocation / avocation
  • applying the creative process to the business model
  • exploring own creative outlet
  • learning about themselves and world around them
• Physical space devoted to Arts Academy

Elizabeth will type up some things from other Arts High School mission statements, particularly those around:

• drawing connections
• involving outside community
• self-expression
