Hello everyone, I was in York 8 last year and was on the Blog Team, and out of curiosity I thought I'd read through what this year is talking about, and contribute to the debate. First off, you all seem to be getting just as thoroughly off-topic as we did last year. This is (unfortunately) a lesson in real politics. I mean, anyone who has been following this years Democratic primary can see how people spend more time worrying about irrelevant things, instead of focusing on the issues, like certain people in this thread were spending time insulting people for using dictionaries (which makes no sense-- someone who is intelligent enough to supplement their vocabulary like that should be admired, it is not 'fake').

Now, onto my opinion on the topic. It is my opinion that abortion should stay legal, and Roe vs Wade should be upheld. There are many reasons for this, but one of the biggest is that the government currently has much larger problems to deal with (torture facilities in other countries that we use, never-ending wars) to be spending its time controlling woman and their conscious decision to not carry a fetus to term. If a woman decides to terminate her pregnancy because she would not be a suitable mother for the child, than that should be her choice. Chances are, if the woman wants an abortion, but is forced because of laws preventing it to have the baby, than she would not be a responsible mother, anyway.

One last thing, before, a poster (Alexandra) stated that no one reads, or wants to read, longer posts. To the contrary, longer posts such as Sofi's tend to be much more thought out. And I was much more inclined to read them than the short posts that were incoherent and riddled with grammatical errors.

@Jade:
I'm not trying to sway you into believing anything you don't feel is morally sound, but I WILL stand up for what I believe so that I know you respect the values of others.
Legalize abortion.

Again, Mr. Clifford didn't delete your comment, I DID.

Jack knows what he is talking about, unlike you who is being the typical meat-head, bully. You don't know how to write, your almost completely illiterate. Your points go everywhere, your words are not spelled correctly, and your usage of words are almost like those of a fourth grader.

Bobo, stop.

You don't get a please or thank you because you have to earn respect from me. Obviously since you have offended many of my friends, I'm not going to have any respect for you.

bobo: Who are you and why are you blogging at 2 o' clock in the morning? You may not be able to say the R word, but you can say pregnant. No need for "preggers" or "prego". So your saying that the woman should have to go through nine months of a pregnancy with a baby she doesn't even want because the male wants a baby? Listen to what you're saying. And you don't usually know if the woman is going to die at pregnancy.
